CHERRY VALLEY FAMILY GUIDE

5 Libraries for an Easy Family Outing Around Cherry Valley

Plan a storytime, craft or quiet afternoon close to home

Libraries are one of my favorite easy family outings. You can browse books, spend a little time in the children’s area and check the calendar for storytimes, crafts and other programs before you go. I pulled together five branches around the area so you can quickly compare locations and regular public hours.

A few tips that make library trips easier

  • Open the event listing before you go and confirm registration, age range and location.
  • Bring your library card if you plan to check out books, but families can still browse and attend many public programs without checking anything out.
  • Let each child choose one book for fun and one book about something they are curious about.
  • Check the holiday closure section.
Save this guide: Check each official calendar again before attending a class or storytime. Some programs require registration or are designed for a particular age group.
